ABSTRACT

Georgia O’Keeffe was a painter who first gained fame in the mid-1920s. O’Keeffe gained fame because of her exceptionally unique close-up painting style, her controversial works hinting at feminist motifs, and her utilization of vibrant colors that put her ahead of her time and in the spotlight as a talented female artist. Furthermore, O’Keeffe’s work paid major dues to the influence she received from her life experiences, the geography of the places she lived, and the people in her life. O’Keefe was also well known for her path-paving process for subsequent female artists; she played a crucial role in creating stepping stones in order for women to meet and compete with men at their level of respect and recognition regarding art and creative studies.
